Ottawa is marking Heart Month with a series of events and awareness activities focused on heart health, disease prevention and fundraising for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. More than 100 community initiatives are planned throughout February, including the popular Light the Capital Red campaign, educational events like Wear Red Canada and heart health screenings, and opportunities to support cardiovascular research and care. CTV’s Peter Szperling reports from Ottawa, Ont., on how residents and local organizations are taking part to promote heart health and highlight the importance of cardiovascular awareness.
