Sussan Ley claims her job is safe amid speculation of a potential leadership spill

Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has spoken to Sky News Australia about the latest Newspoll which shows the Liberals in a bad position after reaching a historic low.
The latest Newspoll shows Ms Ley is now the most unpopular major party leader since 2003 as Liberals’ primary support sits at 15 per cent.
This comes amid speculation Angus Taylor could challenge Ms Ley for the Liberal leadership position as soon as this week.
“These polls are a point in time, and I understand that when people see disunity and when they see politicians talking about themselves in Canberra instead of talking about the real needs of struggling Australians, they mark us down,” Ms Ley said.
“But we are focused on the needs of Australians, and nothing is more important to me right now than the things I deeply believe in.”
Ms Ley suggested her position was safe and denied speculation of a potential leadership spill.
