CNN host Dana Bash has pushed back forcefully on House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ remarks about ICE.
Jeffries claimed Immigration and Customs Enforcement has gone “completely out of control.”
He also argued ICE and the DHS must be reined in through major reforms tied to future funding bills.
Bash took apart his argument by noting that ICE and Customs and Border Protection are already fully funded under legislation passed last year.
She pressed Jeffries on how threatening a shutdown would rein in immigration enforcement, pointing out it would instead hit agencies like FEMA, TSA and the FAA.
