Deputy Opposition Leader Ted O’Brien has criticised Treasurer Jim Chalmers after the Reserve Bank Governor revealed inflation was expected to be “out of band and above target” for six years.
“High inflation hurts all Australians, whether you’re paying a mortgage, renting or running a business, or just trying to make ends meet,” Mr O’Brien said during Question Time on Tuesday.
“Treasurer, these are not my words – they are the words of the Governor of the Reserve Bank, who has also said that inflation will be ‘out of band and above target’ for six years.
“Treasurer, when will inflation come down?”
