Thousands protest in Sydney after police used pepper spray during rally against Herzog visit

A second day of protests taking place in Sydney, after Monday’s demonstrations against Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s state visit led to the police pepper spraying protesters. Hundreds of Australians have rallied today, condemning the police response amid allegations of excessive use of force. New South Wales Premier Chris Minns has defended the actions of the police, saying they are a proportionate response to keep people safe in a very difficult situation. Mr Herzog is expected to travel to Canberra and Melbourne before leaving Australia on Thursday. Natashya Gutierrez reports from Sydney.
