Josh Hawley blasts Minnesota Attorney General over fraud, claims he ‘ought to be in jail’

US Senator Josh Hawley has clashed with Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison over the massive welfare fraud scheme in his state.
The clash occurred on Thursday during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing, where Hawley questioned Ellison.
Hawley pressed the Democrat about his actions surrounding the nonprofit organisation that was at the centre of a $US250 million scheme, ‘Feeding Our Future’.
During the hearing, Hawley cited a 54-minute meeting between Ellison and people later indicted and argued the AG attempted to help them.
The Senator also accused Ellison of accepting $US10,000 in campaign donations following the meeting with the indicted individuals.
