President Donald Trump’s push to draw new election maps in an attempt to ensure Republican victories in the November midterm elections has kicked off heated opposition amid the redistricting map efforts. Louisiana is in the midst of its own battle after state senators passed a plan that would eliminate a majority-Black district. The plan still needs Louisiana House approval.
