South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of President Donald Trump’s staunchest allies, died on July 11 from a tear in his main artery caused by hardened arteries, his office said in a statement. He was 71.
Preliminary medical examination findings determined that Graham died of an "aortic dissection" caused by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to the senator’s office. An aortic dissection is a tear in the main artery that carries blood from the heart.
