Wally Funk, Oldest Woman to Fly to Space, Dies at 87

Wally Funk, the trailblazing aviator who would not take no for an answer after she was told women could not fly into space, has died at 87. Funk was only a teenager when she earned her pilot’s license but her dream of going to space was put on hold for six decades before she rode aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. NBC’s Joe Fryer remembers a life well lived on Sunday TODAY.
