Smithsonian Scholar Says Thomas Jefferson’s Hair Proves He Fathered Sally Hemings’ Kids

Smithsonian scholar Richard Kurin, author of “History by a Hair,” and a team of researchers say they have proof that Thomas Jefferson fathered the children of Sally Hemings, one of the hundreds of African Americans he enslaved, after testing a few strands of Jefferson’s hair. NBC News’ Laura Jarrett reports for TODAY.
