US President Donald Trump called new White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia "a great person" in a press conference outside the White House Friday.
Trump also took questions regarding the planned livestream of a firing squad execution of former Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an unprecedented development in the history of the death penalty. Trump said he personally approved the livestream of Hasan’s death.
The former U.S. Army major turned his gun on fellow soldiers at Fort Hood in Texas on Nov. 5, 2009, killing 13 people and injuring 31 others. He was sentenced to death in 2013 following a court martial.
