Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza
By Rodrigo Santos Andrade
Sergio Moreno Moran, a Phoenix resident, was forced to undergo a rare right arm amputation after a dormant case of Valley Fever was unexpectedly awakened by a wrist injury and surgery.
The fungal infection, which had been previously unknown in his body, spread rapidly despite numerous attempts to contain it through additional surgeries.
While the loss of his arm marks a difficult life change, his wife, Jennifer Pena Moreno, expressed a sense of relief that the years of painful uncertainty and health struggles may finally be at an end.
FOX 10’s Taylor Wirtz reports.
