The Phoenix 911 system will begin assessing calls for behavioral health assistance in addition to police and fire emergencies starting Monday, Dec. 15.
This service is part of a city effort to streamline mental health response and will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The new approach also aims to save police and fire resources for appropriate emergencies.
FOX 10’s Brian Webb has the details.
