Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza
By Rodrigo Santos Andrade
More than 4 million guns were legally owned as of 2024, according to statistics from The Australia Institute. Research director Rod Campbell said on Tuesday (Dec 16) that Australia now has more guns than it ever had before, although Australians "overwhelmingly support stronger gun laws" and want fewer guns in the community.
"Owning a gun in Australia is a privilege, not a right. And that’s the underlying basis of all of our gun laws," said Mr Campbell, adding that there is no widespread pushback against this and support for reducing number of guns in Australia is overwhelming. https://cna.asia/4qhDq5H
