Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza

‘Avner’s’ Bakery owner Ed Halmagyi has permanently closed his bakery in Sydney following the recent Bondi terror attack.
The closure reflects a profound shift in the Jewish community’s sense of safety in Australia, as Mr Halmagyi emphasises that his business, founded on joy and hospitality, can no longer operate under current fears.
“What happened at Bondi is not just horrific, but it is profound to the extent that it is going to change the way certainly that I and so many people in our community and beyond think about being Jewish in Australia,” Mr Halmagyi said.
This decision is underscored by previous incidents of vandalism and threats against him and his bakery.
