Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson has demanded an apology from the ABC over comments made by its Global Affairs Editor Laura Tingle.
The ABC journalist claimed during an appearance on the network’s ‘Politics Now’ podcast that the Bondi attack was not religiously motivated.
Ms Henderson spoke to Sky News host Sharri Markson, insisting the ABC take responsibility for the comments of their employee.
“These remarks are absolutely appalling – they’re deeply offensive. I think the ABC must unequivocally apologise,” she said.
“What she has said is so wrong on so many levels.
“The ABC from my perspective has completely lost the plot; it’s unacceptable.”
