Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza

It is day one of Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, an event that draws major figures in the conservative movement. This is the first AmericaFest since the assassination of the group’s founder, Charlie Kirk.
The event is drawing huge crowds, with thousands coming from across the country.
Many people we spoke with say this AmericaFest is pivotal for a few reasons. It is the first one since founder Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University. Since then, his wife, Erika Kirk, has taken his place.
It is a moment thousands from across the country have waited for — Erika Kirk taking the podium, welcoming the projected 30,000 people to AmericaFest in downtown Phoenix.
Turning Point USA expects the weekend to be its biggest event yet, and for certain reasons. This is the first AmericaFest since founder Charlie Kirk’s death, when he was shot and killed at Utah Valley University.
Erika Kirk looked back at a memory she has.
“He goes, I got to get on Air Force One and I need you to close out AmFest and do the staff meeting after and I said you’re closing out AmFest, and I said what am I supposed to say. And he said you’ll figure it out you always do,” Kirk said..
Austin Walker has more from the Phoenix Convention Center.
