This is the moment Bondi hero Ahmed al-Ahmed is presented with a cheque for $2.5m Australian dollars by TikTok influencer Zachery Dereniowski after tens of thousands of people donated.

Ahmed al Ahmed charged at one of the gunmen from behind, seizing his weapon and knocking him to the ground in an act of bravery that saved lives.

His courage has been praised around the world, not least by Australia’s Premier of New South Wales, Chris Minns, who visited Ahmed in hospital.
