Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza

The United States Coast Guard is pursuing an oil tanker in international waters near Venezuela on Sunday (Dec 21), officials said. US President Donald Trump has also not ruled out the possibility of a ground operation into Venezuela – a threat that neighbouring Brazil says would result in a humanitarian catastrophe. Ian Ralby, CEO of maritime law and security firm IR Consilium, tells CNA’s Asia First that a lack of clarity over the legal basis of US operations “brings all kinds of questions to the front”.
