Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza
By Rodrigo Santos Andrade
The New South Wales Parliament has been recalled for an emergency sitting to debate controversial laws introduced after the Bondi Beach terror attack. The proposed legislation allows public assemblies to be banned for up to three months following terrorist incidents, permits removal of protesters’ face coverings, and restricts most gun owners to four firearms with licence renewals every two years instead of five. The Palestine Action Group, farmers’ organisations, and gun shop owners have voiced strong opposition, claiming the laws will cost jobs and unfairly target legitimate activities, though the legislation is expected to pass both houses of parliament.
