President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) received harsh criticism from Father Edson Adélio Tagliaferro during mass at the Igreja Matriz Nossa Senhora das Dores, in Artur Nogueira (SP). The pastor said that Jair Bolsonaro “sucks” and that his voters should confess for the sin of having voted for him.

In a mass held last Thursday (02), the priest prayed for the dead, including the victims of COVID-19, and said that Jesus died crucified for “telling the truth”, before complaining about the mismanagement of Jair Bolsonaro’s government of the new coronavirus pandemic. Even though he was alerted by the faithful and even by his own mother, Edson Adélio Tagliaferro did not skimp on the president’s critical tone.

“If we are seeing, for example, that the government is no good, can’t the priest say that the government is no good because the people don’t want to hear it?”, Asked Father Edson Adélio Tagliaferro, calling Jair Bolsonaro a “bandit” and their “sinner” voters.

“A country that has already reached 60 thousand deaths from the pandemic, and we don’t have a Minister of Health. What do you want me to say? What everyone says, ‘oh, he doesn’t work because they don’t let him work’. No! It’s because it sucks. Jair Bolsonaro is worth nothing! And whoever voted for him should confess, ask God for forgiveness for the sin he committed, because he elected a bandit to be president ”, continued Father Edson Adélio Tagliaferro.

The priest also warned of the “destruction of the country”, denied fearing threats and cited the American missionary Dorothy Stang, murdered in a settlement in Pará in 2005, as an example of courage.

“I don’t want to suffer any reprisals, that is not my intention at all. Only the truth is the truth, and, as Jesus said, proclaim on the rooftops what is true. I’m not afraid. Courage, said Jesus in today’s Gospel. Courage! This is difficult, yes. It is very difficult, but we need to wake up and wake up to what is happening in our country, the destruction of our people, who go to health posts and are dislocated. It is a pity that we are in this situation. We wouldn’t need that, but it’s not easy, we know that ”, added Edson Adélio Tagliaferro.
