Barry Manilow shared that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. The “Copacabana” singer gave the health update directly with fans on Instagram, explaining that doctors recently discovered a cancerous spot on his lung while he was undergoing an MRI following a bout of bronchitis. According to Manilow, the cancer was caught early, something he credits to “pure luck and a great doctor.” The 82-year-old artist said he is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the spot and that doctors do not believe the cancer has spread. Due to the procedure, Manilow, who just wrapped a string of shows at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Springs, announced that his January arena tour dates will be rescheduled.
