More than 8 million Americans are expected to fly over Christmas and New Year’s, and between high passenger volume and storms, delays are inevitable over the next 10 days. Between Sept. 2024 and Sept. 2025, the Department of Transportation says more than 480,000 flights were delayed because of air carriers, just over 6% of all flights.
