Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza

December 24, 1963 It may have been the unusually unpleasant weather elsewhere in the country… or it may be that San Diegans have a lot of kissin’ cousins, but there never has been the kind of influx of visitors experienced by local travel agencies. Extra buses were put into operation to bring holiday travelers to San Diego. The Santa Fe Railway advises its trains running about 15 minutes because of the extra number of passengers and the heavy load of San Diego-bound mail. The holiday rhyme suggests to grandmother’s house we go…but she finds coming to San Diego is much more pleasant. The air traffic at Lindbergh Field was hitting a record high for holidays as thousands more were using the airways to get away from the cold and get into the balmy local climate. It’s a happier Christmas in San Diego.
