Barry Manilow, the 82-year-old singer behind hits like ‘Mandy’ and ‘I Write the Songs’, has been diagnosed with lung cancer after doctors discovered a cancerous spot on his left lung during an MRI ordered to investigate bronchitis. The early-stage cancer will be surgically removed without requiring chemotherapy or radiation. Manilow plans to take a month off touring before returning to the stage in Las Vegas for Valentine’s Day.
