In what some call a new era for weight loss medication, FDA officials have approved a new pill that is described as the first of its kind, and experts say it delivers results similar to injections.
The daily pill is a version of Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy. It includes Semaglutide, which is the same activve ingredient as the Wegovy injection and Ozempic. Clinical trials have shown that the pill delivers similar results to the weekly shots.
With the new pill option, some Americans may be more willing to take it. Reporter Madison Alworth has more.
