Australia’s meat industry has revealed it will oppose new Chinese quotas on Australian beef exports.
It’s a move that Peak Body claims will affect more than $1 billion worth of beef trade.
Shipments exceeding the limit of two point six million tonnes will be taxed at 55 per cent.
China claims it is looking to protect domestic production and claims an increase in beef imports was negatively impacting its own beef industry.
