News Corp Australia Europe Correspondent Sophie Elsworth gives an update on the Swiss bar inferno, which has claimed the lives of 40 people and left at least 115 injured.

“It’s turned to sheer tragedy and devastation here in Crans-Montana, where 40 people have died in this inferno and another 115 injured,” Ms Elsworth told Sky News Australia.

“We’ve seen a lot of the vision in the last 24 hours of people running for their lives, scrambling to get out.

“40 people were unable to escape in time.”

It has been confirmed that at least one Australian was among those seriously injured during the fire.
