Four people have drowned and two people are missing after New Year’s Celebrations

Authorities say it has been a tough 24 hours after four people have drowned and two people, including a teenager, are missing.
On January 1, the body of a 25-year-old woman was recovered at 5 am at Maroubra Beach, and an hour later, a man was swept away in rough surf at Coogee Beach.
Later that afternoon, a 45-year-old woman drowned in Camden Haven, followed by another drowning at Avoca Beach at around 6:45 pm.
A boat capsized in Palm Beach on December 31, leaving one man dead, 14 a 14-year-old boy missing and a third person injured.
Surf Life Saving New South Wales is warning people to avoid going into the water if the beach is closed.
