At least 20 people, including nine children, were killed in the early hours of Monday to Tuesday (10), in bombings conducted by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli rockets began firing on Monday in “response” to Hamas, which also sent rockets against Jerusalem. More than 100 people were injured at the scene. The shooting was the most recent episode in an escalating conflict between Israelis and Palestinians over the past few weeks.
