‘There’s not a war’: Marco Rubio denies the US is at war with Venezuela following attack

The US Secretary of State has denied America is at war with Venezuela following yesterday’s attack on Caracas and the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
Speaking to NBC’s Meet the Press, Marco Rubio says Congressional approval was not needed for the attack.
“There’s not a war. I mean, we are at war against drug trafficking organisations, not a war against Venezuela,” he said.
“We will continue to reserve the right to take strikes against drug boats that are bringing drugs towards the United States that are being operated by transnational criminal organisations.”
