The Federal Government has eliminated the childcare activity test, introducing a three-day guarantee that provides at least three days of subsidised childcare per week to families earning under $500,000 annually. The policy change affects approximately 100,000 Australian families, who will no longer need to prove work hours to qualify for subsidies. Advocates welcome the reform but continue to push for free childcare for low-income families and a $10 fee cap for all others.
