‘Great honour’: Trump speaks with Colombian President

US President Donald Trump has spoken with Colombian President Gustavo Petro in an attempt to cool rising tensions between the two countries.
Trump announced on Truth Social that President Petro will meet Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the White House.
“It was a Great honour to speak with the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, who called to explain the situation of drugs and other disagreements that we have had,” Mr Trump stated on Truth Social.
“I appreciated his call and tone and look forward to meeting him in the near future.”
