On July 7, gynecologist Ricardo Teles Martins was arrested in the José Bonifácio neighborhood in Fortaleza, accused of abusing women during consultations in the city of Hidrolândia, Ceará, Brazil.

The Municipality of Hidrolândia, through the Municipal Health Department, removed Ricardo Teles Martins from the care provided at the health unit during investigations into the case.
