Russia’s ‘dodging sanctions’ by using shadow tankers to fund the war in Ukraine

ANU Strategic and Defence Studies Centre Dr Matthew Sussex explains how Russia is utilising its oil tankers to fund the Ukraine war.

“The success of the shadow tankers has been quite significant in dodging sanctions,” Mr Sussex told Sky News Australia.

“It has been effective in driving the Russian war economy.”
