Victoria declares state of disaster as out-of-control bushfires rage

Fire crews in Regional Victoria are receiving reports of a first fatality as they fight catastrophic conditions on what authorities believe could be the worst day since the tragic Black Saturday.
Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan declared a state of disaster for 18 local governments and an Alpine resort.
At least four large bushfires have threatened communities and lives in the states’ north, northeast, greater Bendigo, and Alpine National Park regions.
Three people, including a child, remain missing after being last seen Thursday afternoon in Longwood, in the state’s north.
