Actor-director Vir Das spoke to India Today’s Senior Editor Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor about his upcoming film Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos. He spoke about producer Aamir Khan’s reaction to the film’s narrative and characters. Vir also expressed his views on India’s Gen Z and their active role in socio-political events.
The 46-year-old revealed Aamir’s reaction and said, "Aamir said four important things: ‘Tumne hatke film banai hai (Your have made a unique film), hero pitta rehta hai (hero keeps getting beaten up), In the love track woman has upper control, you are a bad dancer’."
In the movie, Vir’s character is raised in England and trained to be in India after his mother dies. He later returns to Idnia to take on the Goan mafia. Vir has also co-written the film and highlighted that "the movie takes every NRI trope and proves it wrong."
While speaking about India’s Gen Z, the actor emphasised, "They are a self-aware generation and very authentic. It is a weird thing to broadcast your life while living it, whether they go to Diljit show, Coldplay and Vir show. We cannot relate to that. Their tribe is very important to them."
