‘Backed into a corner’: Iran’s ‘corrupt, dysfunctional’ regime ‘fighting for its own survival’

Baker Institute for Public Policy Director David Satterfield claims the “corrupt, dysfunctional” Iranian regime has been “backed into a corner” amid mass anti-government protests.
“For the Iranian regime, what are these protests about? They’re about the regime itself,” he told Sky News Australia.
“They’re about the inability over almost half a century of this corrupt, dysfunctional regime to meet the basic needs of its people.
“The regime is backed into a corner … it’s fighting for its own survival, and it’s used extreme brutality to do that.”
