BBC scrambles to shut down Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit over documentary edit

The BBC will file a motion to dismiss the $10 billion lawsuit brought by US President Donald Trump over its 2024 ‘Panorama’ documentary.
The British national broadcaster allegedly distorted Trump’s January 6 remarks.
The BBC is arguing that the contested program did not air in the United States, was done without malice, and didn’t cause President Trump any damage.
Trump sued the BBC for both defamation and under Florida law for $5 billion apiece, seeking $10 billion total.
The BBC plans to argue it didn’t create, produce, or broadcast the documentary in Florida.
Trump’s legal team is not backing down despite the BBC’s efforts to get the case dropped.
