Iranians in Ottawa urge U.S. to act as Iran deaths rise

Iranians living in Ottawa held a demonstration calling on the United States to step in as the death toll from Iran’s nationwide protest crackdown continues to climb. Activists and community members at the rally cited growing reports of fatalities and human rights abuses by Iranian security forces, and urged U.S. intervention and international pressure to protect civilians. The protests in Iran have seen thousands killed and detained amid unrest rooted in economic and political grievances. CTV’s Katelyn Wilson reports from Ottawa, Ont.
