‘Its really dark’: Calls for national enquiry into gender clinics operating on teenage girls

Women’s Forum Australia Head of Advocacy Stephanie Bastiaan calls for a “national enquiry” into Australian gender clinics enabling double mastectomies for teenage girls.
“It’s all very hush-hush, there’s no mandatory reporting, there’s no mandatory follow-up. It’s really dark,” Ms Bastiaan told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“The question is whether they’re actually able to consent to these treatments … you’re dealing with vulnerable people.
“Hopefully, with more pressure in 2026, we can see some more change.”
