Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has been slammed for his latest emotional address on the shooting of Alex Pretti in Minnesota.
During Kimmel’s monologue on Monday, he broke down in tears twice as he recounted Pretti’s death by federal agents in Minneapolis.
Before his message to Pretti and Renee Good’s family, the 37-year-old mother killed by an ICE agent, he slammed the immigration agency.
Kimmel accused law enforcement of arresting US citizens and pulling people out of their vehicles “for the crime of having an accent”.
The host then suggested “we need new leaders” as protesters and federal law enforcement agents continue to clash.
“If our leaders aren’t even trying to reduce the amount of chaos in the street, rather than exacerbating it, if our leaders are intentionally creating and encouraging violence and fear, then I hope you will also agree, we need new leaders. Because these are not leaders,” Kimmel said.
