Albanese signs Timor-Leste security deal to deter Chinese influence

Former foreign minister Alexander Downer comments on how Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has signed the Timor-Leste security deal to deter the country from falling under Chinese influence.
“This is just a continuation of our relationship with East Timor,” Mr Downer told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“They are not very easy people to deal with, to tell you the truth … we don’t want East Timor to fall under the influence of China.”
