Clandestine talks between Sussan Ley’s two leadership rivals appear to have resulted in a stalemate.
Liberal leadership aspirants Andrew Hastie and Angus Taylor have been urged to decide who is the preferred candidate to challenge Sussan Ley.
The meeting took place just before the memorial service of former MP Katie Allan in Melbourne.
The Prime Minister called the timing ‘astonishing’.
