“The Chinese tradition actually has its own understanding of civilizations, of civilizational coexistence,” said Wang Xianhua, dean of the School of Humanities at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. A traditional Chinese proverb “A single flower does not make spring, while one hundred flowers in full blossom bring spring to the garden” was mentioned when Global Civilization Initiative was proposed. It suggests to the world: come and see how China understands living in harmony with nature and with others, said Wang.
