Rapper Diddy was arrested in Manhattan by federal agents on Monday night (16), based on an as-yet undisclosed charge, said the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Diddy, 54, is one of hip-hop’s most influential producers and executives and a hugely successful artist and has faced multiple allegations of sexual assault.

Last week, singer Dawn Richard filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of sexual assault, battery, sex trafficking, gender discrimination and fraud in the Southern District of New York. Diddy denies the allegations.

That same month, Diddy was ordered to pay $100 million in another sexual assault lawsuit against Derrick Lee Smith, who accused Diddy of drugging and sexually assaulting him at a party nearly 30 years ago. An attorney for Diddy said the rapper would seek to have the ruling overturned.

R&B singer Casandra Ventura sued Diddy in 2023, accusing him of serial physical abuse, sexual slavery and rape during a 10-year professional and romantic relationship. She accepted an undisclosed settlement in November 2023, and Diddy has vehemently denied the allegations.
