Eduardo Bolsonaro stated that the United States could send F-35 fighter jets and warships to Brazil following Jair Bolsonaro’s conviction.
Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) commented on possible retaliation from the Trump administration in response to the sentencing of his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, to 27 years and 3 months in prison by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) for attacks on democracy, criminal organization, and attempted military coup. In an interview with Paulo Cappelli on Metrópoles, the congressman stated that the United States could send F-35 fighter jets and warships to Brazil in the future.

“Not at this time. But if the Brazilian regime is consolidated and develops in a manner similar to Venezuela’s, with elections that are completely opaque, without broad opposition participation, and riddled with censorship and political arrests, Brazil may well need F-35 fighter jets and warships in the future, because that’s the current state of Venezuela”, Eduardo Bolsonaro projected.
When asked if he would favor military intervention in Brazil, Eduardo Bolsonaro responded: “I think it’s worth it for the sake of freedom. Would you accept being a slave to avoid war? I prefer war. It’s like Churchill said in that case with Chamberlain. He returned from Germany with Hitler’s agreement in his hands. And Churchill warned: he could have chosen between dishonor and war”. Reinforcing his position, Eduardo Bolsonaro said he favors US military intervention to combat the Supreme Court.
