Israeli attacks leave at least 20 dead in Gaza

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman will be joined by Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell today, Tuesday, December 16, to provide critical new details regarding the murder investigation of legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. The news conference is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and will be streamed live here on FOX 10 Phoenix, as well as on the LADA Instagram account (@ladaoffice).
This briefing follows the tragic discovery of the couple in their Brentwood home on Sunday, December 14. Rob and Michele were found by their daughter, 28-year-old Romy Reiner, having suffered fatal wounds from an apparent knife attack. Later that evening, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested the couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner. He was booked Monday on suspicion of murder and is currently being held without bail at Men’s Central Jail.
High-profile defense attorney Alan Jackson has confirmed that he has been retained to represent Nick Reiner. Jackson stated that while the case is being presented to the District Attorney’s office today, there will not be a formal court hearing this afternoon. He further explained that Nick has not yet been medically cleared for transport, which he described as standard procedure, and a court appearance cannot take place until that clearance is granted.
The entertainment world continues to mourn the loss of the iconic "This Is Spinal Tap" director and his wife. Nick Reiner, who has been open in the past about his long-term struggles with addiction, remains the sole suspect in custody. Tributes have continued to pour in for Rob Reiner’s decades of cinematic excellence and political activism, with colleagues like Harry Shearer remembering him as a "mensch" of the highest character.
