2025 marked the deadliest year on NSW roads in eight years

Last year 355 motorists died on NSW roads making it the most lethal year on the state’s roads since 2017.

Drivers speeding on country roads was the leading cause.

Deaths on regional and rural roads account for nearly 70 per cent of all incidents.

Fatigue was the second biggest killer, while drug-related fatalities also increased.

Men were by far the most affected, totalling 77 per cent of all deaths on New South Wales roads.
