A severe public health crisis is unfolding across major Indian cities as contaminated drinking water leads to widespread illness and fatalities. This special report investigates the "poison taps" crisis, highlighting the dire situation in Indore’s Bhagirath Pura, where at least 10 people have died and over 142 were hospitalized due to sewage-laced water. The emergency extends to Gandhinagar, which is facing a typhoid outbreak with over 100 children hospitalized. In Bengaluru’s Lingarajapuram, residents also report serious health concerns from similar sewage contamination in the water supply.
